Running light & easy for best results

It would be hard to comprehend that running ‘light and easy’ would also be running at your best but if you look at the professionals they certainly do make it look easy!

If you run with muscles stressed & tight then fuel energy is needed by the body to keep those tight muscles tense. You do not want to waste energy anywhere other than where you need it for the running mechanism itself. All other muscles should be relaxed (apart from perhaps the sprint finish!).

Running light – is about running light on your feet.

We do drills & exercises to help you achieve running ‘light & easy’. Minimal effort for maximum effect. When you can master this running for longer and/or running faster certainly becomes possible.

Part of the effort optimisation process is to also look at your running gait or form. How symmetrical is your technique? Loading one side of body more than the other increases the risk of injury. Video analysis or posture assessment tools can be used to help visualise and correct deviations.

From the assessments a program is developed to suit your needs to achieve your goals.
